The Alexander Central Cougars will head out on the road to take on the Lee County Yellow Jackets at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
The home team had come away the winner the last four times Alexander Central and Davie had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. Alexander Central came out on top against Davie by a score of 14-11 on Friday.

The team relied heavily on Sawyer Chapman-Mays, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddix Reese, who scored a run while going 2-for-5.
Meanwhile, it may have taken ten innings to finish the job, but Lee County ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Triton, sneaking past 14-13. That's two games straight that the Yellow Jackets have won by just one run.
Drew Stanfield was incredible, going 4-for-7 with three runs, four RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Josh Hall, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Lee County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Triton only managed nine hits.
Lee County pushed their record up to 2-0 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.5 runs across that stretch. As for Alexander Central, their record is now 2-0.
Alexander Central skirted past Lee County 5-3 in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Alexander Central since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
