The Tuscaloosa Academy Knights and the Pisgah Eagles squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Tuscaloosa Academy Knights had to settle for second. They took a 36-29 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles. Tuscaloosa Academy's loss signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.
Despite the loss, Tuscaloosa Academy still got an impressive performance from Preston Lancaster, who threw for 426 yards and a touchdown, and also punched in two touchdowns on the ground.
Special teams played a big role in the game for Tuscaloosa Academy, adding 11 points to the final score. All those points came courtesy of Simon Mitrev: he added nine points with three field goals, and another two kicking extra points.
Tuscaloosa Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 10-3. As for Pisgah, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 12-1.
Tuscaloosa Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Pisgah will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Fyffe at 7:00 p.m. on December 1st. Fyffe will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each contest than the last.
