Basketball Recap: Janissa Lehman Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Garrett

Westview lost to Garrett back in January, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Westview Warriors strolled past the Garrett Railroaders with points to spare, taking the game 49-33. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Warriors.

Westview's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Janissa Lehman led the charge by going 6 for 10 on her way to 17 points in addition to eight rebounds and five assists. Those 17 points gave Lehman a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Bre Cory, who went 5 of 10 on her way to 15 points.

Westview's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-5. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.8 points per game. As for Garrett, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Westview will face off against Central Noble at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Central Noble will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Westview surely won't give up without a fight. As for Garrett, they will square off against DeKalb at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
