It was a good run, but The Peninsula Seahawks unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They took a serious blow against Yelm, falling 59-9. While losing is never fun, Peninsula can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington football rankings (they are ranked 92nd, while Yelm is ranked sixth).
Peninsula's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Yelm, their victory was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-0.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Peninsula will take on Timberline at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Yelm, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Gig Harbor at 7:00 p.m. Gig Harbor will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
