Softball Recap: Andrews Has No Trouble Against Woodland

Andrews lost to Woodland last Friday, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Yellowjackets blew past the Wolverines 11-1. The Yellowjackets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matches by six runs or more this season.

Andrews got a massive performance out of Sarah Jennings, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Those two stolen bases gave Jennings a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Chloe Skipper, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Andrews always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .516. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Woodland only posted an OBP of .222.

Andrews' victory bumped their record up to 11-3. As for Woodland, their defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 5-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Andrews will challenge Georgetown at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Woodland, they will take on Wagener-Salley at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The War Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.08 runs per game on average), something the Wolverines will no doubt try to take advantage of.
