The Eaton Reds will be playing at home against the Peak to Peak Pumas at 5:30 p.m. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Eaton has struggled recently with three defeats in a row, while Peak to Peak will arrive with three straight wins.
Last Thursday, it was a hard-fought game, but Eaton had to settle for a 51-49 defeat against Kent Denver.
Eaton's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Tayla Wiedeman, who scored 17 points along with 9 rebounds and 3 steals, and Courtney Steinkamp who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 15 rebounds. Wiedeman scored a full 34.7% of Eaton's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Meanwhile, Peak to Peak didn't have too much trouble with Coal Ridge on the road on Saturday as they won 51-33.
Alexandra Eschmeyer continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, shooting 4-for-6 from downtown and dropping a double-double on 23 points and 10 rebounds. The match was her fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Megan Wagner, who scored 12 points along with 7 rebounds and 4 steals.
Eaton now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Peak to Peak, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.
Keep an eye on the arc in Tuesday's contest: Eaton have made nailing deep shots look easy this year this season, having only averaged 4.4 threes per game. It's a different story for Peak to Peak, though, as they've been averaging only 6.2 per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
