West Warwick can now show off four landslide victories after their most recent contest. They claimed a resounding 71-30 win over St. Patrick Academy at home. That looming 71-30 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for West Warwick yet this season.
West Warwick relied on the efforts of Owen Stearns, who scored six points along with two steals, and Zack Lawrence, who scored nine points. Another player making a difference was Dylan Viveiros, who scored seven points.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Achievement First Providence, who are still winless after their sixth contest. They lost to Paul Cuffee on the road by a decisive 53-34 margin on January 8th. Achievement First Providence was down 41-20 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Despite the defeat, Achievement First Providence had strong showings from Steven Rodriguez, who scored ten points, and Stephen Adedire, who scored eight points.
West Warwick's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-4. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.5 points per game. As for Achievement First Providence, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.
Keep an eye on the arc in Wednesday's contest: West Warwick have been dynamite from deep this season, having made 38.7% of their threes per game. It's a different story for Achievement First Providence, though, as they've only made 5.5% of their threes per game this season. Given West Warwick's sizeable advantage in that area, Achievement First Providence will need to find a way to close that gap.
