Bronaugh has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Ballard Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
Last Thursday, Bronaugh suffered a rough 55-32 loss at the hands of Sheldon. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Bronaugh in their matchups with Sheldon: they've now lost six in a row.
The losing side was boosted by Strauss Banes, who scored 8 points along with 7 steals and 5 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Tucker Duncan, who scored 13 points along with 3 steals.
Meanwhile, Ballard was the victim of a rough 70-45 defeat at the hands of Drexel on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Ballard can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 454th, while Drexel is ranked 201st).
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Payson Hill, who scored 14 points along with 6 rebounds. The game was his fifth in a row with at least ten points. Bradley Bergschnieder was another key contributor, scoring 8 points along with 10 rebounds.
Their wins bumped Bronaugh to 4-2 and Sheldon to 4-1.
Monday's match is shaping up to be a masterclass in shooting: Bronaugh have been dynamite from deep this season, having made 38.8% of their threes per game. However, it's not like Ballard struggles in that department as they've made 45.5% of theirs this season. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out. Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more basketball content.
Everything came up roses for Bronaugh against Ballard in their previous meeting back in December of 2022 as the squad secured a 65-31 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bronaugh since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
