Centennial has gone a perfect 10-0 against Peoria recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Chargers will square off against the Lions at 4:00 p.m. The last three games Centennial has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
On Thursday, Centennial didn't have quite enough to beat Normal West and fell 9-7. That's two games in a row now that the Chargers have lost by exactly two runs.
Cal Meyers put in work while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-5.
In other batting news, Madden Schurvinske made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. That home run marked the first that he launched this season. Jake Miller was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
Meanwhile, Peoria was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 18th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 21-3 to Richwoods. On the bright side, the three- run effort marked the Lions' highest-scoring game to date.

Peoria's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Centennial has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .435. It's a different story for Peoria, though, as they've only averaged .181. Will they be able to contain Centennial's hitters?
Centennial took their victory against Peoria in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 22-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Chargers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
