The Cowan Blackhawks had to endure an 11-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. Everything went their way against Muncie Burris on Thursday as Cowan made off with a 49-24 win. Cowan's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Cowan was led to victory by Davelynn Lindsay and Savannah Hall. Lindsay scored seven points along with nine rebounds and eight assists, while Hall scored 17 points along with six rebounds. That's the first time this season that Hall scored 15 or more points. Brooklyn Hall was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with six rebounds.
Despite the loss, Muncie Burris saw an underclassman step up: Sydney Jackson scored 17 points along with five steals.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Muncie Burris struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Cowan posted 14 assists.
Cowan's win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-17. As for Muncie Burris, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-16.
Cowan will square off against Daleville at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Muncie Burris' road trip will continue as they head out to face Winchester Community at 7:00 p.m. on January 30th.
