It was a good run, but the JAG Jaguars unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell 70-59 to Pinson Valley. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for JAG in their matchups with Pinson Valley: they've now lost three in a row.
JAG's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of JaMicah Adair, who scored 21 points, and Ladarius Givan who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds. Adair is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. Cedrickus Williams was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
JAG struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Pinson Valley racked up 15 assists.
It was another big night for Clyde Walters, who scored 27 points along with seven rebounds and five assists for Pinson Valley. Another player making a difference was Austin Coner, who scored 13 points along with seven assists and five rebounds.
JAG's defeat dropped their record down to 19-2. As for Pinson Valley, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-8.
JAG will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Pike Road at 7:00 p.m. Pike Road will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings (they are ranked 211th, while JAG is ranked 14th). As for Pinson Valley, they will head out on the road to face off against Fairfield at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Fairfield has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 659 points over their last ten matchups.
