Germantown hasn't had much luck against Lewisburg recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Mavericks are taking a road trip to square off against the Patriots at 6:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Germantown came out on top against Florence on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run first inning. The Mavericks' pitcher stepped up to hand the Eagles a 10-0 shutout. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Mavericks considering their two-run performance the match before.

Mackenzie Donnell tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out seven over five innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Presley Merkich, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. Mollie Haley also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Lewisburg never got on the board in their matchup last Saturday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Oxford last Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 14-0 margin over the Chargers. The Patriots haven't had any issues with the Chargers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Kara Walker and Anna Etter did most of the damage at the plate: Walker went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double, while Etter went 3-for-4 with three RBI and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Lindey Willhite, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
Lewisburg hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are a perfect 10-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.
Germantown has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Lewisburg, their record is now 16-12.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Friday. Germantown hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.4 home runs per game. However, it's not like Lewisburg struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.5 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down. Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other softball content.
