Still Creek Christian is 4-0 against True North since February of 2022, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Still Creek Christian Colts will be playing at home against the True North Knights at 6:00 p.m. Hopefully Still Creek Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Tuesday.
Still Creek Christian's recent rough patch got a bit rougher after their third straight loss. They took a 54-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of Varsity Opponent.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Isaiah Freel, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds and three steals. That was a full 37% of Still Creek Christian's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Jeremy Reed, who scored nine points along with 12 rebounds and two blocks.
Meanwhile, True North scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They walked away with a 61-54 victory over Varsity Opponent. With that win, True North brought their scoring average up to 50.2 points per game.
True North's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Aiden Parks, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 assists. That's the first time this season that Parks posted eight or more assists. Porter Hadley was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds.
Still Creek Christian now has a losing record at 6-7. As for True North, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-4.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Still Creek Christian have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 33.9 rebounds per game. However, it's not like True North struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 32.5 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Everything came up roses for Still Creek Christian against True North in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 as the team secured a 67-36 victory. With Still Creek Christian ahead 46-14 at the half, the game was all but over already.
