After flying high against the Killian Hill Christian Cougars last Friday, the Fideles Christian Rangers came back down to earth. Fideles Christian was just a bucket shy of victory on Tuesday and fell 49-48 to the Lightning. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Fideles Christian in their matchups with the Lightning: they've now lost three in a row.
Despite the loss, Fideles Christian had strong showings from Jael Flinn, who scored 23 points, and Laci Harkins, who scored 18 points. That was a full 37.5% of Fideles Christian's points, marking the 17th time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Lanier Christian Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jia Thapar, who scored 20 points along with four steals. Another player making a difference was Adelyn Gough, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and four blocks.
Fideles Christian now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Lanier Christian Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season.
