The Ridgeview College Prep Lions will head out on the road to face off against the Southwest Leadership Academy Rams at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Ridgeview College Prep is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
Last Wednesday, Ridgeview College Prep ended up a good deal behind Heritage Academy Gateway and lost 61-45.
Meanwhile, Southwest Leadership Academy stacked an 11th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 71-40 victory over South Ridge at home. Given Southwest Leadership Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 70th, while South Ridge is ranked 242nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Southwest Leadership Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ayden Gonzales, who scored 13 points along with eight assists and seven rebounds. Gonzales is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last 12 games he's played. Another player making a difference was Raja Williams, who scored 16 points along with three steals.
Ridgeview College Prep's loss dropped their record down to 11-7. As for Southwest Leadership Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-5.
