Softball Recap: Eagle Point Takes a Loss

Eagle Point dropped their record down to 13-10 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the North Eugene Highlanders by a score of 6-5. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Highlanders apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Kady Ledbetter was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with three RBI. Sarah Estes was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

As for North Eugene, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 14-10. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games.

On North Eugene's side, the team relied heavily on Alexa Stiles, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. Peyton Ebert also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Looking ahead, North Eugene will welcome Marist at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Highlanders' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Spartans have averaged an impressive 11.4 runs per game this season. Eagle Point will be paying especially close attention to North Eugene's contest: after North Eugene faces off against Marist, they'll take on Eagle Point again at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
