After three games on the road, Perry is heading back home. They will take on the Geneseo Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
While it was all tied up 24-24 at halftime, Perry was not quite Mount Morris' equal in the second half on Saturday. They fell 55-47 to the Blue Devils. Perry has struggled against Mount Morris recently, as their game on Saturday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Geneseo's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 74-67 hit to the loss column at the hands of York. While losing is never fun, Geneseo can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 382nd, while York is ranked 100th).
Perry's loss dropped their record down to 6-13. As for Geneseo, they have not been sharp recently as the team has lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season.
Perry lost to Geneseo at home by a decisive 58-44 margin when the teams last played back in January of 2020. Can Perry avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
