Basketball Recap: Clover Snags Fourth Win in Last Five Games

On Friday, the Clover Blue Eagles beat the Abbeville Panthers 63-55. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Blue Eagles.

Clover had a senior duo take command as Devin Agard went 5 of 8 en route to 14 points and J'Shon Watson made all 6 shots he took to post 14 points. Agard has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Rico Hickman, who posted six points and seven rebounds.

Despite the loss, Abbeville had strong showings from Justin Rollinson, who went 8 of 17 on his way to 17 points in addition to five assists and three steals, and Darius Riley, who went 7 of 13 on his way to 17 points. Another player making a difference was Jaden Baylor, who put up 11 points and six rebounds.

Clover has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. As for Abbeville, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Clover didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 48-39 loss against Irmo on the 28th. As for Abbeville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 75-63 win against Union County on the 28th.
