Basketball Recap: Unicoi County Now 3-1 over Last Four Games

David Crockett came into Tuesday's contest looking for another win against Unicoi County, but Jackson Simmons wouldn't allow it. In a tight matchup that could have gone either way, the Unicoi County Blue Devils made off with a 52-51 victory over the David Crockett Pioneers thanks in part to Simmons, who went 6 for 15 on his way to 16 points and three steals. The game was his third in a row with at least ten points.

Unicoi County has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.8 points per game. As for David Crockett, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Unicoi County will take on Tennessee at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. David Crockett has already played their next matchup (against Elizabethton), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
