We expected Phelps to have trouble with the significantly higher ranked Hazard on Thursday, and they did. Phelps suffered a grim 6-35 defeat to Hazard. If Phelps were expecting to get some payback for the 8-37 loss against Hazard the last time they met, then they were left disappointed.
The defeat dropped Phelps' record to 4-2. The win bumped Hazard's record up to 4-2.
Next week Phelps take on Pikeville at Phelps at 7:30 PM. Phelps' defense better steel itself: Pikeville are averaging 36.67 points per game. Hazard will look to defend their home turf against Paintsville at 7:30 PM. Paintsville enter the matchup touting a five-game streak of increasing point totals.
