Meanwhile, Timpanogos faced Crimson Cliffs in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Timberwolves fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 7-5. The Timberwolves' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.
Tyten Day put in work while hitting and pitching. He struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. Day was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Collin Morgan made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI.
Desert Hills' win bumped their record up to 24-5. As for Timpanogos, their loss dropped their record down to 21-8.
Wednesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Desert Hills hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .367.
