Mercer/Butternut had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They took their game against New Auburn by a conclusive 48-26 score. After losing to New Auburn the last time they met, Mercer/Butternut decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. This was the first game for both teams, giving Mercer/Butternut a 1-0 record and starting New Auburn off at 0-1.
In two weeks, Mercer/Butternut take on Washburn/Bayfield . As for New Auburn, they will face of against Mellen.
