Hayden Bietz put up the most strikeouts he's had since back in March on Thursday. As a matter of fact, he turned in his biggest game of the season, striking out seven batters over seven innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances.

Bietz's strong effort led Van Alstyne over Krum and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers will be headed into this one with a sizable disadvantage in the rankings (they're ranked 376 places lower in Texas), but they're not letting that get them down.
