Softball Recap: South El Monte Snags Seventh Victory in Last Eight Games

The matchup between South El Monte and Marshall on Monday hardly resembled the 2-0 effort from their previous meeting. South El Monte was the clear victor by a 19-1 margin over Marshall. The result was nothing new for South El Monte, who have now won nine matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Alexis Rodriguez was incredible, scoring three runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Natalie Ramirez also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

South El Monte always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .833. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

South El Monte has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Marshall, they dropped their record down to 0-8 with the loss, which was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season.
