Port Byron has gone a perfect 5-0 against Bishop Ludden recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Panthers will welcome the Gaelic Knights at 4:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Port Byron has six straight victories, Bishop Ludden has nine straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Port Byron proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by 15) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Weedsport, sneaking past 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Panthers have posted against the Wolverines since April 22, 2022.

Jenna Jump was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 15 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits (and only one walk). Those 15 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, earning one run and two stolen bases.
In other batting news, Lily Berkey was incredible, going 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Cameryn Brundage was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Bishop Ludden scored the most runs they've had this season on Sunday, but it wasn't enough. They took a 14-11 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bishop Grimes.
Port Byron pushed their record up to 13-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Bishop Ludden, their loss dropped their record down to 0-8.
Port Byron took their victory against Bishop Ludden in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 24-2 score. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Gaelic Knights have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
