The Tushka Tigers won the last time they faced the Coalgate Wildcats, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Tushka enjoyed a cozy 38-20 win over Coalgate. Tushka pushed the score to 31-10 by the end of the third, a deficit Coalgate cut but never quite recovered from.
Tushka's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tagen Simon led the charge by scoring eight points along with seven assists and five rebounds. Simon hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Tristan Gibson, who scored nine points along with three steals.
Tushka's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-12. As for Coalgate, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-14.
Tushka will head out on the road to take on Caddo at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Caddo presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Tushka in Oklahoma (Caddo is ranked 87th, while Tushka is ranked 277th). As for Coalgate, they will be playing at home against Calera at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
