Baseball Recap: West Rowan Beats Lake Norman Charter for Their Fourth Straight Win

West Rowan had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Lake Norman Charter Knights with a sharp 8-2 win. The Falcons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by six runs or more this season.

Maddox Moore spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on six hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Cole Blevins, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Eli Graham was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

West Rowan was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lake Norman Charter only posted a batting average of .214.

West Rowan's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-3. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Lake Norman Charter, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-4.

The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Falcons 3.7, the Cougars 3.9) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Lake Norman Charter will square off against rival Robinson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
