Orosi took down Minarets 55-30 last week, the largest margin of any game.
The Cardinals led East Sierra in scoring this week after putting up 55 points on the Mustangs.
Laton's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Lalo Perez threw for 78 yards and Christian Pilgrim had 76 yards receiving. On the ground Arturo Gaona chipped in 50 yards. Gustavo Rayas helped Laton's passing attack out by catching one ball for eight yards.
Branson Alves made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Mustangs fell to Stone Ridge Christian. The 5-foot-10 junior recorded one fumble and grabbed one sack.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Orosi takes on Laton. Brian Ruiz's team is in first place, while Frankie Rosa's team is in third place.
There should be lots of points scored when the Cardinals and the Mustangs face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Orosi comes in having scored 166 this season, while Laton has scored 145. The Cardinals scored 55 points last week as they beat Minarets.
The Mustangs fell 6-2 to the Knights in the closest game of the week. Pilgrim was a bright spot for Laton, as he threw for eight yards in the loss.
