The Hardin Hornets's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 64-27 loss at the hands of Shepherd. Hardin has not had much luck with Shepherd recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
When it comes to explaining why Hardin lost, one person who can't be blamed is Josue Ibarra. Despite the final result, he scored 11 points along with 3 steals.
Tristen Cullum continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Shepherd, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Braydon Mettlen, who scored 12 points along with 7 rebounds.
Hardin's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Shepherd, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-8.
Hardin will be playing at home against Kountze at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Kountze knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 13 matches -- so hopefully Hardin likes a good challenge. Shepherd is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Diboll at 7:00 p.m. on December 12th. Diboll will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
