Hayes is a perfect 10-0 against Worthington Kilbourne since April of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Pacers will challenge the Wolves at 5:15 p.m. Hayes is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games.
Hayes lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Westerville North, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Thursday's contest. The Pacers were the clear victors by a 14-4 margin over the Warriors on Thursday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Bronwynn Leighty made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one RBI.

In other batting news, Lizzy Gould was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and two doubles. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Taylor Flynn, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, one stolen base, and one double.
Hayes was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Westerville North only posted a batting average of .292.
Meanwhile, Worthington Kilbourne fell victim to Dublin Scioto and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They lost 13-0 to the Irish. The loss continues a trend for the Wolves in their meetings with the Irish: they've now lost eight in a row.
Worthington Kilbourne's defeat dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Hayes, their record is now 7-1.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Hayes has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 10.6 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Worthington Kilbourne struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Hayes took their victory against Worthington Kilbourne in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 11-1 score. Do the Pacers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wolves turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
