Baseball Recap: Friday's Defeat Ends Medina's Winning Streak

After flying high against Leakey last Tuesday, Medina came back down to earth. The Bobcats fell 7-2 to the Menard Yellowjackets on Friday. The Bobcats were red-hot at the plate heading into the match (they scored no less than ten runs in the three contests prior), but the Yellowjackets' pitchers proved too tough.

Medina saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Davis Peterson, who scored a run and stole four bases while going 2-for-4. Another was Anthony Silva, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

With the loss, Medina broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-3. As for Menard, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-7 record this season.

Coincidentally, Medina and Menard will both be playing Leakey the next time they take the field. The Bobcats will host the Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Yellowjackets will host them at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
