Delvin Weems ran for two touchdowns and
Eric Swinney added two as well as
Sandy Creek (Tyrone, Ga.) upset Ridgeland (Rossville, Ga.) 45-10 on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a Swinney touchdown run in the first quarter, the Patriots led 31-0 at the half.
Sandy Creek expanded its lead to 35 points entering the fourth quarter. SC's lone score in the quarter came on a touchdown catch by
Kyle Wilson.
The loss snapped the Panthers' 13-game winning streak.
Ridgeland's lone touchdown came on a pass in the fourth quarter.
Led by
Ronnie Blackmon, the Tyrone school came into the game allowing 9.2 points per game. RHS came in allowing just 17.9 points per game this season. The Rossville school struggled against the Patriots' offense, which entered the game scoring 41.4 points per game.
The loss comes after Ridgeland defeated Marist 28-27 last week.
