Seminole hasn't had much luck against Andrews recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Seminole Indians will challenge the Andrews Mustangs at 5:00 p.m. Seminole is coming into the contest hot, having won their last 11 games.
Seminole barely beat Greenwood the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Everything went Seminole's way against Greenwood on Tuesday as Seminole made off with a 20-10 victory. The result was nothing new for the Indians, who have now won 12 games by six runs or more so far this season.
Monica Morin was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Yenezah Almager, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.
Seminole was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .586. They are 15-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Andrews, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They had just enough and edged out Greenwood 10-8.
Andrews got a massive performance out of Lauren Cordova, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Kenedi Holly, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Andrews is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games. Seminole's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-4.
Friday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Seminole has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .547. However, it's not like Andrews struggles in that department as they've averaged .482. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Seminole suffered a grim 17-7 defeat to Andrews when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can Seminole avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
