It was a good run, but the Beddingfield Bruins unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell 62-53 to Greene Central. Beddingfield was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Greene Central apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Beddingfield lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Zeth Bradford, who scored nine points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bradford has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jayonta Blanchard, who scored nine points.
Beddingfield's defeat dropped their record down to 10-2. As for Greene Central, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Beddingfield will take on Goldsboro at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Goldsboro's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. As for Greene Central, they will head out on the road to face off against West Craven at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
