It was a good run, but Columbia Independent unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Wednesday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 55-33 walloping at the hands of La Monte. Columbia Independent has not had much luck with La Monte recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Eric Dirksmeyer and Gabe Martin certainly did their best on Wednesday to try and avoid the loss. Dirksmeyer scored eight points along with seven rebounds, while Martin scored six points.
Columbia Independent's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for La Monte, their victory bumped their record up to 9-6.
Columbia Independent will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Christian Fellowship at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th. As for La Monte, La Monte and Lincoln will face off on January 26th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Lincoln has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
