Purchase Line is on a six-game streak of home losses (dating back to last season), Marion Center a 13-game streak of away losses (dating back to last season), but someone's luck is about to change. The Purchase Line Red Dragons will be home for the holidays to greet the Marion Center Stingers at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Wednesday, Purchase Line was beaten by Cambria Heights 68-33. Purchase Line has not had much luck with Cambria Heights recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Stephen Perruso, who scored ten points. Those ten points set a new season-high mark for him. Jakob Mountain was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Marion Center came up short against United on Wednesday and fell 55-43. While losing is never fun, Marion Center can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 455th, while United is ranked 186th).
Marion Center's loss came about despite a quality game from Evan Risinger, who scored 18 points. That's the first time this season that Risinger scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kamden Rozier, who scored nine points.
Purchase Line's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Marion Center, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
Purchase Line strolled past Marion Center when the teams last played back in January by a score of 55-38. Will Purchase Line repeat their success, or does Marion Center have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
