College Park is a perfect 5-0 against Grand Oaks since October of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Cavaliers will welcome the Grizzlies at 7:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Friday.
Grand Oaks will take on a team with plenty of momentum: College Park extended their winning streak to four on Friday. The Cavaliers claimed a resounding 61-14 win over Oak Ridge. With the Cavaliers ahead 38-0 at the half, the game was all but over already.
College Park relied on the efforts of Camden Hughes, who threw for 289 yards and three touchdowns while completing 72.4% of his passes, and Antonio Booker, who gained 92 total yards and three touchdowns. Booker showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 65 yards. Kaylen Stephens was another key back, gaining 113 total yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Grand Oaks). They blew past Cleveland 58-0 last Thursday. The victory continues a trend for the Grizzlies in their matchups with the Indians: they've now won four in a row.
Grand Oaks' win came from a few key players College Park will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Bryan Victorian Jr, who rushed for 149 yards and a pair of TDs on only 13 carries. Another rusher making a difference was Keilan Gause, who rushed for 144 yards and two scores on only 15 carries.
Grand Oaks was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 328 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 210 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.
Special teams played a big role in the game for Grand Oaks, adding 14 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of JaKobi Andrus, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.
Grand Oaks' win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for College Park, their victory bumped their record up to 4-0.
College Park strolled past Grand Oaks when the teams last played back in September of 2024 by a score of 28-14. Do the Cavaliers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Grizzlies turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
