After having lost a blowout in their previous game against West Salem, Mountain View was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They blew past the Redmond Panthers 14-5. The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by nine runs or more this season.
Blaire Eckman made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
In other batting news, Mountain View let Kallie Eckman and Brooklynn Hueners run wild. Eckman went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one run, while Hueners scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.
