Baseball Recap: Atlantic Has No Trouble Against Matanzas

Atlantic hadn't done well against Matanzas recently (they were 0-7 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Atlantic put the hurt on Matanzas with a sharp 14-3 victory. With that win, the Sharks brought their scoring average up to 6.7 runs per game.

Josiah Perez was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing four bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Jake Cronin was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Atlantic hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most four strikeouts in four consecutive games.

Atlantic's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Matanzas, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-11.

Atlantic wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 6-5 victory against Mainland on the 12th. As for Matanzas, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 9-4 loss against Flagler Palm Coast on the 13th.
