Middletown was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Monticello only posted a batting average of .000.
New Paltz came out on top against Red Hook on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run seventh inning. The Huguenots took their contest against the Raiders 7-4. The game was the first time the Huguenots have beaten the Raiders on their field since May 2, 2019.
Like Middletown, New Paltz also got a great game from a two-way player: Jack Maiale. On the mound, he pitched 4.2 innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Gavin Treglia, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That double marked the first that he has hit this season. Nick Drewnowski was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
New Paltz is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-9 record this season.
