Section 3 Class C - West recap Oct. 3, 2012
Institute of Tech moved up to 419 from 445 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Section 3 Class C - West. The Eagles were able to make the jump by beating the Eagles 41-14.
Skaneateles extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Institute of Tech, 41-14. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Lakers.
Billy Lewis was the best wideout in the league this week as Hannibal lost to Tully. Lewis tallied two receptions for 70 yards. Brandon Burnett helped Hannibal's passing attack out by catching one ball for 16 yards.
Colby Trexler was the most productive running back in Section 3 Class C - West this week. He ran for 119 yards on 22 carries as Jordan-Elbridge fell to the Black Knights. Adam VanWart also contributed to the rushing game with 54 yards on the ground.
Zack Harding put up the best numbers through the air as Bishop Ludden bested the Eagles. He finished with five completions for 110 yards and two touchdowns. Harding's favorite target this week was Antoine Montgomery, who caught one pass for 58 yards.
6-foot-1 quarterback Conor Herr of Skaneateles is the league leader in passing yards this season with 904. He has also thrown 14 touchdowns. On the ground, Jordan-Elbridge's Trexler has rushed for 831 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Montgomery. The Bishop Ludden star has 15 catches for 359 yards.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Skaneateles takes on second place Tully. Joe Sindoni's team beat the Eagles last week, while Tully defeated Hannibal.
There should be lots of points scored when the Lakers and Bradley Keysor's team face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Skaneateles comes in having scored 189 this season, while the Black Knights have scored 161. The Lakers scored 41 points last week as they topped Institute of Tech.
