After a string of four wins, the Moanalua Menehune's's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a serious blow against Kalaheo, falling 85-54. Moanalua was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Kalaheo apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Several Menehune players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Gavin Pommerenk, who scored 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Kimbrough, who scored ten points along with five rebounds.
Moanalua's loss dropped their record down to 7-15. As for Kalaheo, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 12-16 record this season.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Kaimuki the next time they take the court. Moanalua will head out to face Kaimuki at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Kalaheo will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
