Lake Cormorant hasn't had much luck against Marshall Academy recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. Lake Cormorant will be playing at home against the Marshall Academy Patriots at 2:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Lake Cormorant is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They walked away with a 12-9 win over North Delta on Thursday.

Jake Romero was incredible, scoring a run while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in hits (three). Michael Callahan was another key player, going 2-for-5 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Marshall Academy ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They came out on top against Heritage Academy by a score of 12-8. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for Marshall Academy's hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.
Phillip Sharpe made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. He is becoming a predictor of Marshall Academy's success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is 2-1 (and 1-2 when he doesn't). Sharpe was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs while going 4-for-5. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kyler Todd, who went 3-for-4 with five RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base. He also got three hits, marking his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Hayden Lundine, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in two of his five plate appearances.
With the victory, Marshall Academy broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-3. As for Lake Cormorant, their win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-3.
