The Browne Bruins's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight defeat. They took a 62-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of North. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Browne in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now lost five in a row.
Browne lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jesus Solorio-Vasquez, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Desmyn Beavers-smith, who scored 15 points along with two steals.
Vicente Castro was his usual excellent self, scoring 24 points along with six rebounds and five assists for North. Castro is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. Another player making a difference was Trystan Williams, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds.
Browne's loss dropped their record down to 8-12. As for North, their win bumped their record up to 7-12.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Browne's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Sidewinders at 7:00 p.m. on January 25th. As for North, they will face off against the Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
