North Attleborough (Mass.) took the final lead of the game on Saturday as
Ryan Perron ran for a touchdown with 8:00 remaining, bringing the team to victory over
Mansfield (Mass.) 36-21.
After trailing 20-7 at the half, the Hornets went ahead on a touchdown with less than a minute remaining in the third.
By the end of the third, North Attleborough found itself trailing by 1 point as Mansfield captured the lead thanks to two scores in the quarter. MHS scored on a
Kevin Makie touchdown run and a
Kyle Wisnieski touchdown pass to Hershman in the quarter.
NA's standout player in the win was Perron. The senior quarterback threw one touchdown and ran for two touchdowns.
Hershman made a difference for the Hornets. The junior wide receiver caught one touchdown and kicked three extra points.
Last season's game between the teams resulted in a 18-15 win for the Rocketeers.
The defeat comes as a step back for Mansfield, which notched a 46-33 victory over King Philip Regional in its previous outing.
North Attleborough (5-3) goes up against Canton in a non-conference game matchup next week, while Mansfield (6-3) locks horns with Taunton also in a non-conference game.
