There's no place like home for the DSST: College View Wolves, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Saturday. They walked away with a 67-58 victory over DSST: Cedar on Monday. The victory was just what DSST: College View needed coming off of a 63-39 loss in their prior contest.
Leading DSST: College View to victory were Craig Johnson and Isaias Tomita. Johnson scored 13 points along with five assists and five rebounds, while Tomita scored 17 points along with five steals. Tomita is crushing the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Alejandro Sandoval, who scored 11 points along with three steals.
DSST: Cedar's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Matthew Stophel, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and two blocks, and Ilyas Elmi who scored 15 points along with eight assists and five steals. It was the first time this season that Elmi posted eight or more assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Mathew Cruz, who scored eight points.
DSST: College View's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-4. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.0 points per game. As for DSST: Cedar, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-10.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. DSST: College View will take on the Raptors at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully DSST: Green Valley Ranch focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven last Friday. As for DSST: Cedar, they will be playing at home against the Spartans at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Aurora West College Prep Academy has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 8.
