It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Calallen had no problem doing just that on Friday. They blew past the Andrews Mustangs 9-2. Considering the Wildcats have won 20 contests by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
The team relied heavily on Braelyn Bailey, who went 2-for-5 with one home run, six RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kris Leal, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and one double.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Calallen kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Andrews only managed four hits.
Calallen is on a roll lately: they've won 22 of their last 24 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 34-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.1 runs on average over those games. As for Andrews, their defeat dropped their record down to 36-9.
As of now, neither Calallen nor the Mustangs have any future games scheduled.
