The Pilgrim Academy Pioneers won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Monday. They were dealt a 72-31 defeat at the hands of Absegami. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points The Pilgrim Academy has scored all season.
Several Pioneers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mason Parmer, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds. Noah Brittin was another key contributor, scoring six points along with five rebounds.
The Pilgrim Academy's loss dropped their record down to 11-7. As for Absegami, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-6.
The Pilgrim Academy won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Gloucester County Christian at 6:30 p.m. on February 13th. Hopefully The Pilgrim Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Monday. As for Absegami, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Atlantic City at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
