The Parkville Knights came into Friday's matchup having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They slipped by Dundalk 21-20 on Friday. For Parkville, this counts as revenge for the 39-30 defeat the Owls walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2023.
Despite the loss, Dundalk saw an underclassman step up: Lanaya Valentine almost dropped a double-double on 12 rebounds and nine steals. Valentine has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. Another player making a difference was Keiara Barnes, who scored four points along with nine rebounds and three steals.
Parkville's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-9. As for Dundalk, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-12.
Parkville will head out on the road to challenge the Raiders at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Loch Raven presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Knights in Maryland (the Raiders are ranked 66th, while the Knights are ranked 218th). As for Dundalk, they will be playing at home against the Millers at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
