East River is 3-0 against Hagerty since December of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The East River Falcons will head out on the road to face off against the Hagerty Huskies at 7:00 p.m. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Tuesday, East River was fully in charge, breezing past Lake Nona 49-21 on the road.
Meanwhile, Hagerty had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 47 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They blew past Osceola, posting a 85-18 victory at home. Fans of Hagerty have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season ended as a blowout.
Hagerty can attribute much of their success to Ciara Hayes, who went 8 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 29 points and 5 assists, and Kylee Kitts, who dropped a double-double on 29 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Hayes has scored at least 25% of Hagerty's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Isabel Lindauer, who scored 12 points along with 5 assists.
The losses dropped East River to 3-2 and Lake Nona to 1-4.
East River didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Hagerty when the teams last played back in January of 2021, but they still walked away with a 36-31 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for East River since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
